Trade with Ghana

Ghana is the second biggest country in West Africa. The capital Accra is situated along the coast line and is presently home to around 5 million Ghanaians of the total population of 24 million. Ghana is relatively well structured country with a stable democracy, and the issue of corruption is not as present as in many other West African countries.

Ghana offers huge potential for Swedish business interests. Trade between Sweden and Ghana reached 1,4 billion SEK in 2009 and in 2010 Ghana passed Angola and became Sweden’s third largest export market in sub-Saharan Africa. A number of Swedish companies are established in Ghana, e.g. Ericsson, Atlas Copco, Tetra Pak and Sandvik, while others rely on local partners or agents.
